Long, long ago (the 1970s), in a state far, far away, a new Jedeye Order used the HDL Source to conjure the awesome power of silicon. They crafted silicon creations to control all forms of information and communication. Emperor Noice, Lord Moor, and Darth Grov foresaw that silicon would turn their two-bit Chip Franchise into a galactic Trade Monopoly. This triumvirate of sorcerers enscribed their arcane arts into a mysterious tome called the Yellow Spellbook, and taught its powerful magic to their young apprentice Xanders.
But young Xanders grew adventuresome, and left the Jedeye Order to follow his own destiny. It was revealed to him by a bald blue-skinned bard who danced and sang, "Balance of the galaxy, restore it you will". Thus Xanders became a soldier of fortune, and fought bravely in a pitched battle in the S-Cal system, earning the military rank of Kernel.
As the impetuousness of youth passed, Kernel Xanders remembered the wondrous silicon creations that could be conjured using the arcane knowledge in the Yellow Spellbook. Yearning to wield the spellbook's magic once again, Kernel Xanders decided to rejoin his old Jedeye Order now in supreme control of the Trade Monopoly.
Emperor Noice, who had been like a master to young Xanders, had transcended into the Spirit Realm. Lord Moor and Darth Grov, now corrupted by the dark side of the silicon's magic, jealously rejected Kernel Xanders from their council, and prevented him from accessing the Yellow Spellbook.
Kernel Xanders had the vision to compile his own tome: the Green Spellbook. He attempted to cast a spell to conjure the power of silicon. In a pile of sand, he drew a box with an arrow, and the mystic runes "AMDK5". Kernel Xanders then sprinkled seven secret herbs & spices. But that spelled a recipe for disaster: the sand beneath him exploded.
As Kernel Xanders was recovering and devising a new strategy, rebellions occurred all across the galaxy against the despotic and totalitarian rule of the Trade Monopoly. Small rebel armies rose up in Risa, in Tran-Beta, in Metafo, in Syrex, and in Centauri.
In the Big Blue star system, the King of R-Monk and the Duke of Motla promised to provide supplies of silicon (though it was a risc) to the beseiged Maktosh home world. Maktosh was on the verge of collapsing from heavy attacks by both the Trade Monopoly and micro-droids from the Reddmundd gas giant. Super C3EO, the leader of the Maktoshians, did a fine job of devising a super-weapon known as the "reality distortion field" which almost saved them. But cutoff from silicon supplies from R-Monk and Motla, the Maktoshians eventually surrendered. To receive silicon, they were forced to sign a humiliating trade agreement with the Trade Monopoly.
Lord Moor and Darth Grov ruthlessly crushed all the rebellions by threatening to blacklist customers who aided the rebels, filing patent lawsuits, restricting its scrolls of arcane knowledge, conjuring new silicon creations from the ashes of the less-valuable older ones, and slashing prices.
Every rebel army was either utterly annihilated or neutralized.
Or so Lord Moor and Darth Grov believed.
Remnants of the rebel armies escaped to the Nexen and Alfa systems. With his charisma and by paying a king's ransom, Kernel Xanders convinced the skilled wizards of the rebel army to assist him in conjuring silicon creations superior but similar to those of Lord Moor and Darth Grov.
Rebel heroes cast magic spells and gathered arcane knowledge to fight the Trade Monopoly. A wizard from Kemitz inscribed the mystic runes "MSR" on silicon and altered its properties. One wizard tested numerous spells and drew the mystic runes "VME" on silicon to expose and extend its magic. Another wizard analyzed silicon using a magic machine. A hook-handed rogue wizard, rumored to have come via a Centauri stealth fighter, infiltrated a Trade Monopoly transport ship and inscribed the mystic runes "F00F" to transmutate all of their silicon into frozen ice. By observing how their magic affected the silicon, they could infer some of the pages in the mysterious Yellow Spellbook even though it was off-limits to them. Wire wizards read the inferred pages, which gave them the arcane knowledge necessary to conjure their own silicon creations.
Although the Nexen and Alfa wizards in Kernel Xanders's rebel army were younger and less experienced than the ancient sorcerers Lord Moor and Darth Grov, they managed to catch up by casting spells of "reverse-engineering". In a few short years, Xanders silicon creations began attracting customers from the Trade Monopoly.
While the war was raging, Darth Grov had a vision where only the paranoid could survive, so he made plans to eliminate Xanders. To thwart assassination, Kernel Xanders ordered everyone in his upper management surgically-altered to look exactly like Kernel Xanders.
Many subjects in the Trade Monopoly took notice of the better deals offered by Kernel Xanders, and thus began a mass migration of refugees to the Xanders systems. Kernel Xanders was a student of history, and realized he should never demand $1,000 for a chip of silicon, lest the refugees return to the former Trade Monopoly.
Darth Grov began to lose his itanic struggle against Kernel Xander. Fighting back bit-by-bit, Grov succeeded in casting a spell of cloning with the mystic runes "64BITS" to create his own distorted version of Xander's Green Spellbook.
Once again, and forever more, balance is restored to the galaxy.
