The Forbidding Tree warned El-Enon the Demons had thrived
and multiplied since they were imprisoned.
Only the Elves had survived, but had lost their magic.
And he was the last Druid.
El-Enon reconsidered how he had spent his life.
He could have trained other Druids to help fight this battle.
But as Vreeman foresaw, dangers to the Seven Lands would unfold between long spans of time.
He had to spend his life in the Druid Hibernation even though it drained his life away.
Time. Yes, time could be the answer. Reading the Histories,
El-Enon thought about the awesome weapons used in the Tech Wars.
Some were far too dangerous. Some could never be replicated.
But Koglan had experimented with basic principles of some weapons.
Primitive Elven bows and pikes were too slow to stop the Demons.
The Histories described mechanical weapons, but not in enough detail
to understand how to replicate them, nor did any examples survive.
If he could unlock their secrets...
Barrenmoor Castle has many dangers. But one danger even El-Enon feared.
Behind a cleverly-crafted illusion was hidden the Portal of Time.
As with all magic, there was a price.
Something had to be exchanged.
One from the past. One from the future.
He must carefully select his alter-ego.
El-Enon pushed aside the illusion and wards protecting the Portal.
