Malware now targets Systemd because Systemd has its tentacles all over your computer. Malware discovered 2024/04 in xz-5.6.0/5.6.1 uses two tentacles of Systemd, one that starts sshd (secure shell), another that links to xz library, to allow remote login to your computer!
- Your system completely depends on Systemd.
Your computer WILL NOT BOOT when Systemd fails!
- Systemd slows down your computer!

- One of its multitude of flaws its nicknamed "system-doom".
systemd-oom will randomly kill processes at the wrong time,
even while system still has memory!

Systemd is invading the privilege level of the Linux kernel,
