White Lightning FORTH by Oasis Software
White Lightning was an amazing version of FORTH for developing games on Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. In ~1986, I bought C64 White Lightning (which came with Basic Lightning, an extension of ROM BASIC). This FORTH could multi-task on a Commodore 64 by specifying a FORTH word to be executed when a 6502 interrupt occurred. White Lightning could execute 2 tasks, Basic Lightning could execute 5 tasks. IDEAL (what would now be called a graphics or game library) could draw up to 255 variable-size software sprites (BOBs or blitter objects) and commands for sound. Documentation is available at bombjack.org (with other Commodore artifacts). Magazine adverts appeared in Sinclair User, Compute's Gazette, 1985...1986. Basic Lightning and Machine Lightning were released for C64, later, an updated Basic Lightning was released as Laser Basic for C64 and ZX Spectrum.
